Max Gas Burner Turning Bio-Waste into Bio-Fertiliser
Channing and Sons Farm in Coventry upgrade a burner on their energy system.
The Ecoflam MAX GAS 350 burner was recommended as part of the refurbishment of a heating system which is connected to an anaerobic digester.
This generational family farm installed the sustainable energy system in 2015, but the original burner had failed and become too inefficient to maintain.
As a result the owners chose to upgrade the unit. They turned to industrial heating experts, Ryla Combustion for the most appropriate solution. It had to be durable, high in performance, proven to work in this environment and compatible with bio-gas.
The Max Gas range offers features such as:
- High efficiency fan ventilation which matches boilers with high combustion chamber pressure.
- Easy to install, single bolt fixing with the capability to firmly secure it to the flange in three fixing points.
- Easy to assemble combustion head, with features which allow maintenance without interruption to programmed settings.
- Thermowatt control box with digital display, giving real time information about the operating burner.
Neil, Ryla Combustion, “After speaking to Ecoflam and discussing the requirements, we opted for the MAX GAS due to its efficiencies and ease of installation. We’ve always known that Ecoflam manufacture top quality burners and are confident that this unit will stand the test of time.”
Converting bio-waste to energy:
Anaerobic digester installations are designed to deal with the millions of tonnes of bio-waste in the UK, converting it into energy and bio-fertiliser. This type of energy is part of the Government’s efforts to source 15% of the UK’s energy from renewable sources by 2020.
Channing and Sons has continually evolved over the years, with experience ranging from dairy farming to cultivating cereals and potatoes. Currently, the farm grows maize and grass to feed the energy generator, whilst continuing to produce wheat.
Mark Richards, Sales Manager at Ecoflam said: “It’s great to see the MAX GAS burner showing how adaptable it is, plus we’re really pleased to see one of our burners utilised for such a forward-thinking approach to energy production. We’ve always been confident in the performance and longevity of our burners, which is why Ryla Combustion specified us for this project.”
The highly popular MAX GAS burner range of extremely low NOx gas burners are suitable for domestic and commercial applications. Available in outputs from 17kW to 500kW, the range has best in class NOx emissions and features an extremely efficient fan ventilation system – making it compatible with a wide variety of boilers with high combustion chamber pressures.
The MAX GAS burner range utilises standard components from industry leaders, making it exceptionally easy to obtain spare parts. It is also designed and engineered to burn the next generation of fuels including LPG, Biogas and Town gas.
